These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of Timelapse: Adaptive Blocking (“Timelapse,” “the App,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). By downloading, installing, accessing, or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
You may use the App only if you are at least 18 years old and meet any higher age required in your country or region to independently agree to these Terms and purchase a subscription without parental or guardian consent. If you do not meet both requirements, do not download, install, or use the App.
Timelapse: Adaptive Blocking is a personal productivity and self-accountability tool. It lets you voluntarily record your own device screen as a timelapse, review your own screen activity, create local MP4 and PDF exports, and configure self-accountability rules such as focus schedules, app-blocking overlays, usage limits, Quick Locks, Night Lock, optional website and short-form-feed blocking, wake-up alarms, the built-in protections described in Section 9, warnings, and local reports.
The App is intended for your own personal use on a device you own or are authorized to use.
The App is not:
If you are dealing with compulsive behavior, distress, addiction, depression, anxiety, self-harm thoughts, or any mental-health concern, seek help from a qualified professional or emergency service in your area.
Screen capture starts only after you choose to start a session and approve Android’s screen-capture prompt. The App does not use your camera and does not record audio.
Because the App records what is visible on your screen, your timelapse may include sensitive or private information such as messages, emails, websites, financial information, health information, passwords, one-time codes, photos, documents, or other personal content.
You are responsible for deciding when to start recording and what is visible on your screen while a session is active.
The App is designed to store captures, reports, schedules, labels, analytics, and exports on your device. The App does not operate a developer-run cloud backend for screen captures or usage data.
If you export, save, or share an MP4, PDF, screenshot bundle, report, or other file, that file may leave the App and may be handled by the receiving app, service, device, or person under their own terms and privacy practices.
The App may request or rely on permissions and device settings including:
Some settings, such as Usage Access, display over other apps, unrestricted battery usage, and auto-resume, may need to be on before a schedule or Quick Lock can start. You can deny or revoke permissions through Android settings. Some features may stop working or become less accurate if required permissions are denied or revoked. The Privacy Policy explains what each permission can and cannot access.
Focus and related blocking features are intended only for voluntary self-accountability. You configure the schedules, blocked apps, limits, Quick Locks, Night Locks, and other optional restrictions for yourself. Some protections are built in or automatic and are described in Section 9.
You agree not to use the App to control, coerce, monitor, punish, restrict, or secretly observe another person. You also agree not to install or configure the App on another person’s device without their knowledge and valid consent.
The App may block or cover other apps when you enable blocking features. You are responsible for configuring rules safely. Do not configure blocking rules in a way that prevents access to emergency services, essential communications, work requirements, banking, transportation, medical tools, safety tools, or other critical services.
Before starting a Quick Lock or enabling a schedule, review every app, website, and feature the rule may restrict, including the lock’s duration. Do not start it unless you have confirmed that you can still reach the calling, messaging, and other communication apps or services you may need, including emergency services, or have a separate, reliable way to reach emergency services and your essential contacts that the lock cannot block. Where the App lets you choose which apps are available or blocked, make sure emergency, safety, and essential communication apps remain available. Timelapse is not an emergency service. Android, your device manufacturer, mobile carrier, network, and third-party services affect whether calls, messages, and emergency features are available; Timelapse cannot guarantee that a communication method will work or remain available during a lock. Check your setup before each lock begins and choose a duration you can safely complete.
Some protections in the App are built in or automatic rather than optional. By using the App you accept them. They exist to help you keep your own commitments, and you remain responsible for using the App safely.
These protections can block apps you want to use. You accept that risk. Do not rely on the App for safety, and keep another way to reach emergency services and essential contacts.
Normal functional access requires an active subscription verified by Google Play. The App does not offer a public free plan. Valid reviewer and closed-tester access are separate limited testing paths, not consumer subscriptions. Google Play processes subscriptions and supplies the current localized price, billing period, trial, renewal, cancellation, tax, and refund information before purchase.
When you purchase a subscription, Google Play handles payment processing. We do not receive your full payment card number or payment credentials.
The App checks Google Play Billing for current subscription status and to restore purchases. The monthly offer is configured for a 7-day trial and the annual offer for a 14-day trial when each offer is returned as eligible for your account. The App displays only the selected current Play offer and does not create a local trial; if no eligible trial is returned, it shows the standard paid offer.
Unless otherwise shown by Google Play, subscriptions renew automatically until canceled. Uninstalling the App does not automatically cancel your subscription. You must manage or cancel subscriptions through Google Play.
Restore and retry request a fresh Play status. A confirmed inactive result removes Play-based access immediately, and a pending purchase alone does not grant access. If Play cannot verify a subscription, a prior successful active check may support access for less than 24 hours on the same device boot. Without valid recent proof, or after that window expires, subscription access pauses until verification succeeds. Valid reviewer/tester access is evaluated separately.
Google Play may return an eligible 7-day trial with the monthly offer or a 14-day trial with the annual offer. Trial availability and eligibility are determined by Google Play and may differ by account; the App shows a trial only when the selected current Play offer includes the configured duration for that plan. If an eligible trial is not returned, the standard paid offer and its current terms are shown. Google Play may charge you after a trial ends unless you cancel before the trial expires.
Refund requests are handled under Google Play’s refund policies. We cannot guarantee refunds beyond what Google Play allows.
You agree not to use the App:
You are responsible for all screen content, notes, labels, reflections, reports, exports, and shared files created through your use of the App.
If your screen contains someone else’s personal information, confidential business information, copyrighted content, trade secrets, private messages, medical information, financial information, or other sensitive content, you are responsible for handling it lawfully and securely.
Your use of the App is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains what data is processed, where it is stored, how permissions are used, and what happens when you export or share files. It also explains the optional Analytics choice and the separate diagnostics choice; enabling diagnostics does not activate collection in the production app.
The Privacy Policy is available on the App’s Privacy screen and at the public URL: https://kingkim150m.github.io/timelapse-selfaccountability-android-legal/PRIVACY_POLICY.html.
We grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the App for lawful personal self-accountability purposes, subject to these Terms.
We retain all rights in the App, including its software, design, branding, text, graphics, icons, workflows, and other materials, except for third-party components and open-source materials, which remain subject to their own licenses.
You may not copy, sell, rent, lease, sublicense, distribute, reverse engineer, modify, exploit, or create derivative works from the App except where allowed by applicable law or open-source licenses.
The App may interact with third-party services such as Google Play Billing or Android system services. Those services are provided by third parties and are governed by their own terms and privacy policies.
When you share exports through another app or service, that third party controls its own copy of the file.
Timelapse: Adaptive Blocking is an independent app. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, Meta, X, Reddit, Snapchat, YouTube, or Google. Those and any other third-party names, trademarks, and logos belong to their owners and are used only to identify the apps and services the App’s features work with.
We may update, modify, suspend, discontinue, or remove features at any time. We may change feature availability, device compatibility, or pricing for future purchases, subject to Google Play rules and applicable law.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the App is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, statutory, or otherwise. We disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, uninterrupted operation, data preservation, and error-free performance.
We do not promise that the App will work perfectly on every Android device, Android version, manufacturer battery policy, protected app, or system configuration. Some content may appear blank, black, incomplete, blurred, or unavailable because of Android restrictions, device behavior, app protections, DRM, battery optimization, or permission changes.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, lost profits, lost productivity, emotional distress, business interruption, device issues, or consequences from your configuration or sharing of captured content.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim related to the App will not exceed the greater of: (a) the amount you paid for the App or subscription in the three months before the claim, or (b) USD $20.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some limitations may not apply to you.
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless the developer from claims, damages, liabilities, costs, and expenses arising from your misuse of the App, your violation of these Terms, your violation of law, your recording or sharing of screen content, or your use of the App to monitor or restrict another person.
You may stop using the App at any time. We may suspend or terminate access to the App or features if you violate these Terms, create legal risk, misuse the App, or if required by law or platform policy.
These Terms, and any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to the App, your use of the App, purchases, subscriptions, permissions, screen capture features, blocking features, exports, support communications, or these Terms, will be governed by the laws of Guatemala, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where the mandatory laws of your country, state, province, or region require otherwise.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, you and Timelapse agree that any dispute that cannot be resolved informally will be brought exclusively before the competent courts located in Guatemala City, Guatemala.
Nothing in this section limits any mandatory consumer protection, privacy, data-protection, app-store, payment-provider, or statutory rights that you may have under the laws of your country, state, province, or region.
We may update these Terms from time to time. The updated version will be posted at the public Terms URL and/or linked from the App or Google Play listing. Continued use of the App after changes become effective means you accept the updated Terms.
